Our story

Where we come from, and why "Axentra"

For decades, our teams have designed and manufactured torque-sensing differentials under the Torsen brand, part of JTEKT. Following the sale of our business to a new shareholder, we continue this industrial journey under our own name: Axentra.

The name Axentra combines « AX » (the axle, the mechanical backbone transmitting power) and « ENTRA » (from Latin, meaning centre or at the heart). It reflects their position at the core of the driveline where engineering matters: one name, two roots, one clear purpose.

• Yesterday — Torsen, part of JTEKT, a pioneer of torque-sensing differential technology for the automotive industry.
• Today — Axentra is an independent company taking over the entire business, including its operations, manufacturing sites, and teams. A new brand identity. The same trusted expertise.
• Tomorrow — A renowned brand, fully established and recognized as a leading provider of torque-sensing differentials and driveline solutions.
